Thompson-Mathis Metal was established in 1962 by Davis Thompson, who supplied sheet metal for fabrication shops, HVAC and sign businesses. In 1993 when Davis was ready to retire, John Mathis, a long-time family friend purchased the company, added gutter products to the inventory and shortly afterward acquired The Dieckmann Company to sell downspout elbows nationally.
