Modernica is responsible for revitalizing the almost lost art of high-pressure fiberglass molding. The factory is home to the historic fiberglass presses and specialized machinery that has been used in the production of thousands of chairs for over three generation.

This era is often said to have originated here in Los Angeles with the Case Study Program in 1945. Modernica embraces this Modernist movement's ethos. It is with the criterion and ideals established in this period that the myth of the quintessential California lifestyle and attitude was imagined and created. Modernica occupies a 1929 factory located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. This factory houses the production facilities, offices, and a prop-rental house. Modernica has over 70 employees and proudly builds each piece of furniture one-by-one.
