About Gärsnäs

Gärsnäs was founded in 1893 and initially manufactured period furniture for Scanian homes. The wood was sourced from nearby beech forests. After World War II, the modern Scandinavian style was introduced into the company. From the mid-1960s, production was increasingly directed towards furniture for public environments, which became Gärsnäs' special strength. In 2003, the factory was purchased by Åke Axelsson and Anna and Dag Klockby, and the brand has since developed further and attracted great attention in Sweden and internationally.
