A division of Barnhardt Manufacturing Company, NCFI was organized in 1964 by research chemist Dr. H. W. Bradley and Charlotte-based Barnhardt Manufacturing Company. NCFI quickly became a leader in the manufacturing of flexible polyurethane foam for the bedding and furniture industries. In 1966, we moved into our present-day 46,000 square-foot plant in Mount Airy, NC. Since then, our facility has been expanded eight times to its current 280,000 square feet. NCFI has an additional North Carolina manufacturing plant in Hickory, and two more located in Dalton, GA and Salt Lake City, UT.

InsulStar® was chosen to insulate the VISION House in Aspen, CO because of its superior performance among sustainable building products. It super-insulates in any environment and eliminates dangerous and damaging ice dams found in high-mountain, cold climate areas. Architects and builders know InsulStar® is ideal for achieving and exceeding LEED® certifications.

Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF)

NCFI’s Specialty Products Division manufactures spray foam products for use in homes, office buildings, institutions and agricultural facilities. You may not see our products in the buildings you visit, but they are there – making any facility you enter more comfortable and secure.
